By the way, I didn't mention it in the App because I didn't feel it very important, but I wanted to check with a mod anyway: My RL friend has a fully German parent, and she knows a little "around-the-house German" like cursing and simple phrases or words etc. simply because her mother has spoken it secondarily around her since she was little, though she can't speak it fluently. I was wondering if it would be okay for Lyra to know some "around-the-house Russian", or if that would be considered Sue-ish. I know that knowing other languages is usually a red flag for this sort of thing, so I was just going to ask to make sure it's alright.
Not too many concerns on the app. Really, I only have one question/comment.
Lyra has two pets listed. Technically Hogwarts students (as per canon) are allowed one. However, we do have a few students who've gotten around this so I won't tell you you can't. If you want her to keep both the owl and the cat, give a reason it might be over looked? No big deal either way really.
Good application! Respond to that and I'll get you approved.

Well, I hadn't really given it much thought. She's one to keep in close contact with her family, so she needs to have an owl. I just decided to give my character a cat for once. I rarely do the fuzzy pets thing. I can have her leave the cat at home if it'd suit better, but I'd like to keep them both.

There are school owls which are available for the students to use. If there's no special reason for her to have both please have her pick one or the other.
Other comms you might want to join are np_chatter and np_plotting. Here you can chat about NP and create and play out backstories/futurestories with other players. It's also suggested that you comment to the Plot Availability post if you want your character or their relatives to be available for mentions in articles or plot lines.
Just as a head's up if you're not sure how to go about jumping in, throw up a post in np_chatter introducing yourself and your new char. A link to the application is sort of standard but a quick summary and a call for backstory is good. Also, if you're ever on AIM, a lot of players tend to hang out in the chatroom 'drunkoncheese'.

You must comment HERE within one week to acknowledge this approval and be considered active.
After that, add your PB to the list, run the friend add/remove command through your character's journal, and add yourself (or a note for your new char) to the Player Contact List.
Please make sure that you join np_hogwarts and np_atlas as well as friending (not joining) np_officials, np_dumbledore and np_dailyprophet.

Though you're by no means required to do so, if you're interested you can add parents/NPCs to several lists including: the Character Age Listing (PCs are added automatically), Active/NPC Job Listing, Quidditch Rosters for past years or Pro Teams, and of course, you can sign relatives up to be Death Eaters or Order Members.
