Personality: Edward is outwardly friendly to everyone he encounters. If he doesn't like you, you will probably never know. He's very taciturn, never giving much of his true feelings away unless you are one of the few he truly cares about. Most people he sees in terms of value -- how he can use them to his advantage -- to his career, his image, etc. There are a very few who he feels a true attachment for and those are the ones who do see the rare bits of emotion from him. To everyone else, he's just that friendly, easy-going, boy-next-door kind of guy.
He doesn't appear to care for bloodlines, at least not outwardly. On the inside he believes his own bloodline makes him a bit inferior and he works very hard to overcome that. However, he is nice to people regardless of bloodline or anything else.
Edward is stoic and taciturn. He doesn't wear his heart on his sleeve and it's very difficult to tell what he is really thinking. There are a few exceptions to this - people who know him well enough to read his moods - but for the most part Ed's true feelings are often hidden beneath the surface and it might be easy for someone to think he doesn't care about anything just by the way he acts.
Strengths: Both magical and personality: Ed is a model student. He gets good grades and rarely gets into trouble, which is probably why he was made a Prefect in his fifth year. Years of playing both Muggle sports and Quidditch have left Ed with lightening quick reflexes. These along with a knack for wandwork and fierce determination make him a good guy to have around in a duel. Unless, of course, you are on the other side ;) His speed and magic skill make up for a lack in physical strength and as such, you will almost never catch him in a physical brawl - he knows his own strengths and will always defend himself with magic if that's an option.
He doesn't have any exceptional magical strengths, With Ed it's more a question of what he does and doesn't work at. Those classes he excels the most in (Tranfiguration, Potions, DADA) are the ones he feels worthwhile enough to put forth the extra effort for.

As a result, his performances in classes like Charms, History of Magic, etc. are not on par with the rest of his coursework. However, as he is not exceptionally gifted in anything, he's not exceptionally weak in much, either.
Fears: Ed's main fear is of not being good enough. He works extremely hard to put himself on the level of his pureblooded peers. Lately, he's also developed a fear of losing his brother, a direct result of what happened to Kiriaki and also of losing the other people he cares for - especially Ashleigh and Lucy.
History: Edward was born in Scotland on January 10, 1988 to Douglas and Catriona McMillan and 5 years later, his younger brother Patrick aka Trick (patrickmcmillan, played by kibarika) was born. Their parents exposed them to a mixture of muggle and wizarding world traditions and his childhood was fairly stable. While he was raised to appreciate Muggle culture, he still feels that being a halfblood puts him at a disadvantage and feels the need to push himself twice as hard to "succeed" in the wizarding world. Ed's childhood was relatively uneventful. He began showing signs of magic as a small child when he used to make sweets on high shelves float down to him. He "accidentally" turned a large twig into a snake, which seriously frightened some nearby muggle children. Though they lectured him about doing magic in front of muggles, this was a source of great amusement for his parents. He's a friendly guy and gets along with almost everyone. He does well enough in school, but also makes time to socialize and play quidditch.

Friends: Optional: Ed has many casual aquaintances, but few close friends. He gets on well with his dormmates - caer_forelin, colin_mayfield, james_rippner, jeremy_pitt, and alex_departie. His oldest and dearest friend is Lucy Sharpe (lucy_sharpe), who he's loved nearly his whole life. Recently, however, he has fallen in love with Ashleigh Barton (ashleigh_barton) who has been a good friend since their first year. She, Lucy and Trick are the most important people in Ed's life and among the few he truly cares about. There is very little he wouldn't do for these three.
