CHARACTER INFO
CHARACTER NAME: The Fourth Doctor
SERIES: Doctor Who
RESERVED: Y
WISHLIST: N
PERSONALITY: The Doctor is unique, even among the Time Lords.
He’s an odd character, reflected in his strange, bohemian sort of
hippie outfit. When first meeting people, he’ll often offer them jelly
babies. It's in your best interest to accept them. He keeps a
completely random assortment of items in his pockets. He takes a
delight in danger. The Doctor loves it when things go wrong, because
that means he can step in and sort things through himself. He will
gladly chat up the enemy, paying no attention to the fact that he
might kind of DIE soon.

He likes showing off. And show off the Doctor does. There's a
situation happening? You need what device? Well, it just so happens
that he can make that device for you, yes isn't he wonderful? The
Doctor has this habit of knowing exactly what's needed to solve a
problem. Despite his smartness, he’ll play the fool to make others
underestimate him-be it Time Lords or humans. Sometimes it works,
other times it doesn’t. He enjoys keeping his people miles behind his
thinking, mostly so he gets the pleasure of explaining things and
looking very smart. He enjoys keeping people off guard, as shown by
explaining things veryveryveryFAST and then looking at you like you're
a complete idiot when you don't get it.

The Doctor is very whimsical, often childish. He is caring and
kind-hearted towards just about everybody, especially those he deems
his "companions". Unlike some of the newer Doctors, he believes in
second chances. He'll be just as nice to an enemy as he is to a
friend. After all, he let the Daleks live. He absolutely refuses to
kill. However, he does tend to get a little broody. He has an
underlying seriousness under his light-hearted exterior. The Doctor is
very aloof. He tends to get angry easily at people who he sees as
‘stupid’ or ‘being in the way’. He can be very callous at times. He
also seems distinctively not human. There's just something wrong about
him. Although he prefers to use his brain to solve problems, he’ll
fight if needed. The Doctor can improvise various types of weaponry
and scientific doohickeys. That’s another thing he likes-making
things. The Doctor can often be found fiddling around not knowing what
he's doing at ALL.

He is very authoritative. The Doctor takes charge of almost any
situation he gets thrown in, most of the time because he knows that
others have no idea how to solve the situation. He doesn’t hesitate to
boss people around and operates in his own little mindset. He delights
in solving a problem. The Doctor prefers to look at the big
picture-which can be a bit annoying. Yes, the man's dead, Sarah but
don't forget about the ancient evil that's loosed on the world.
Ironically, he can’t stand authority. One of the main reasons the
Doctor left UNIT was because he was under the thumb of the Brigadier.
He has a supreme dislike for religious dogma or nationalism.

The Doctor, in the minds of most people, is slightly crazy. He tells
stories of visiting other planets and fighting other races-the
"Daleks" pop up a lot in his stories, as do the "Cybermen". And
everyone knows aliens don't exist, right? However, his off-putting
personality and slight insanity doesn't change the fact that the
Doctor is a brilliant mind and an excellent person to be traveling the
universe with.
TIMELINE: Post 'Warrior's Gate'
BACKGROUND: The Doctor was born and lived his early live on
Gallifrey, planet of the Time Lords. When he was eight, the Doctor and
his friend the Master looked on the Untempered Schism (a gap to look
at the space-time continuum). This imposed on the Doctor the need to
protect all human life. It drove the Master insane. He was educated
and spent the majority of his early life on Gallifrey, learning the
ways of the Time Lord. A pity that he totally sucked at school.

In 1963, the Doctor and his granddaughter, Susan, landed in Britain so
Susan could complete her education. After two teachers (Barbara and
Ian) found the TARDIS, the Doctor was forced to take them with him.
Together the four encountered Daleks, Cybermen and the Zarbi. However,
the Doctor's old body was slowly starting to give out. He regenerated
into the Second Doctor after succumbing to old age.

The Second Doctor's adventures mostly consisted of the same-fighting
Daleks, fighting Cybermen and generally protecting the planet. The
Doctor discovered a former friend, the War Chief, was giving vessel
technology to the War Lords, intent on conquering humanity. The Doctor
betrayed the War Chief, giving his location to the Time Lords.
However, he broke the cardinal Time Lord rule: never interfere. The
Doctor was exiled to Earth and forced to regenerate.

The Third Doctor reluctantly worked with UNIT, a military organization
designed to stop paranormal threats. The Master came to Earth, allying
himself with the Nestene consciousness in order to take over the
planet. This, and other schemes of the same nature, failed thanks to
the Doctor. When the first three Doctors stopped Omega from destroying
the Time Lords, the Doctor's sentence was lifted and he was free to
come and go as he pleased-he mostly stayed on Earth, though. He
sacrificed his own life by exposure to higher levels of radiation.

After regenerating into the Fourth Doctor, the Doctor was insanely
eager to get off Earth. However, he was persuaded to stay for a while
and help out UNIT. Eventually, he left Earth with Harry Sullivan and
Sarah Jane Smith. The Time Lords sent him on a mission to attempt to
prevent the creation of the Daleks. It didn’t work. Harry left the
TARDIS after their defeat of the Zygons and the Doctor and Sarah
travelled the galaxy by themselves for a while.

Eventually, the Doctor received a summons back to Gallifrey. As humans
weren’t allowed on Gallifrey, he had to return Sarah to Earth. On
Gallifrey, he defeated the Master who was now falling apart because
the Master fails at keeping a body for more than a season. After that,
he traveled alone for a while. Eventually, the Doctor landed on a
planet inhabited by the Sevateem. On an earlier visit, the Doctor
accidentally imprinted the Sevateem’s powerful computer with his own
mind, resulting in multiple personalities. After curing the computer,
one of the Sevateem, Leela, decided to travel with him. They travel
together, visiting places from Victorian London to the moons of
Saturn. On one of those trips, they acquired the robot dog K-9.

After a lot of travels, the Doctor returns to Gallifrey and declares
himself Lord President. This is part of a scheme to save Gallifrey
from an attack by the Sontarans. After saving the planet and defeating
the Sontarans, Leela and K-9 decided to stay on Gallifrey. The Doctor
consoled himself by making K-9 Mark II. The White Guardian summoned
the Doctor so he could assemble the segments of the Key of Time.
Together with Romana, the two traveled across the universe and
assembled the Key, then disassembled it to escape the wrath of the
Black Guardian. Romana regenerated and continued to travel with the
Doctor. The two traveled through time with K-9. Eventually, they
picked up Adric, a new companion. The three traveled in E-Space, a
parallel universe. Eventually, Romana and K-9 stayed behind to help
liberate the Tharil, a race enslaved by humanity. The Doctor and
Adric decide to travel on...AND THEN WHOOPS, EDENSPHERE HAPPENS.
ABILITIES: Since Four is a Time Lord, he has Time Lord powers.
Some of these also relate to his Gallifreyan biology. These
include...
Two hearts (and an enhanced circulatory system)
Fatal weakness to aspirin
Enhanced senses
Needing less sleep
Regeneration (essentially "turning into" a different body when one is
old/fatally wounded. A Time Lord has twelve regenerations, thirteen
bodies)
Limited telepathy with Time Lords and humans
Timey wimey senses.

GAME INFO
EDENSPHERE NAME: Key
BIRTHDAY LOG: As for birthday logs, sure, why not!
DREAM: He was leaning against the wall of what he assumed was a
building. Various wires and technology surrounded him. Everything
was blinking, everything was running, sounds and whirs happened as
lights blinked and flashed. There was a large console in the middle,
whirring and buzzing. He smiled, looking around at everything. This
felt wonderful. Being stimulated, being surrounded by all this, it
felt perfectly natural. He closed his eyes, soaking in the clicks and
the whirrs and the buzzes. This was wonderful. This was just what he
was used to. It was the closest thing to a home he had.

Eventually, it seemed like the walls of the building slowly melted
down around him. He looked around, slightly confused. This was odd.
Something was going on, but he had no idea what. A bright light
appeared from the exit of the building. He could hear a voice.
Straining to listen, he couldn't make out any words. It was just a
low mumble, something reassuring and nice to hear, and yet something
powerful and authoritative. He stood, listening. He knew he was
wary, he knew that he was already in awe by this person, despite not
knowing who this man was. It was a big deal. The man didn't know the
specifics, but he knew that this voice was important, this voice was
powerful, this voice meant something to him.

The walls slowly dissolved into a barren landscape, a desert. He
closed his eyes, listening to the windchimes that seemingly came out
of nowhere. There was a man in a white suit, sitting in a chair, by a
table. The man started to talk. He responded, continuing the
conversation. He felt in awe of this man in the white suit, that he
was something special, that he was worthy of being paid attention to.
He responded deferentially, listening. He knew that this was
important. He was listening carefully. And yet, he had no idea what
the man was saying. It was as if somebody was telling him something
important, perhaps the most important thing in the world, and he just
couldn't remember it. In fact, he had no idea what he himself was
saying. Just that it was important, just that this mattered, that
this mattered more than anything he had ever done. As their
conversation finished, he ransacked his brain, trying to remember just
what exactly the man in the white suit had said.

Only four words stood out: the key to time.

Well, that sounded important. The key to time. Important, and he had
no idea just what it was. However...he was oddly fine with that. 'I
probably should try to remember that,' he thought as he slowly started
to open his eyes.
JOURNAL SAMPLE: [the handwriting is erratic, like the
writer's brain is going in ten different directions at once. it's
also very childish]

Well well well. This is all very interesting and I'm glad that I've
got you but really book, you aren't giving me that many answers. I
don't know why I'm here, how I got here or how I got into that
cocoon-the latter is important of course, partially because while I
think that I'm normally fine without knowing where I am, that cocoon
is something different. At least, I feel fine not knowing where I am
at the moment. I suppose that's good? Better than being worried,
that is.

I'm Key, by the way. I know, it's a horrible name. Too short and not
fitting at all. Still, it was in my dream so that's what I'm going to
use! And it's a lot better than Keytotime at least. That just sounds
horrible, it doesn't roll off the tongue at all. So Key it is. At
least, that's what I'll use until I find a better name for myself.
ASPIRATIONS: Yeah, Key will be all up in everybody's business.
While he will spend a bit of time trying to figure out what's wrong, a
lot of time will be spent just exploring and seeing what the Sphere
has to offer. And bugging Fred of course, because why the heck does
he know this woman. And the Sphere should be terrified of the day
that he discovered jelly babies.

Hi, Kates!

After reviewing your application and doing some research on the canon, we would like an expanded background section. Considering that Four had quite a long tenure, we would like to see more about his adventures- especially moments that were important in shaping him as a character.

Please feel free to submit your revisions and we will continue processing your application, and if you have any questions or need clarification, don't hesitate to contact a staff member!
