-- The Basics --
Theme of Level: Mis-matched Survivalist Level
Brief Description: The Wasteland sort of like the think tank of the tower. A hodge podge world made up of pieces drawn in from different worlds, looking for things that could potentially be turned into a level. It could be that there’s something interesting about that world, or just something that happened to be grabbed at random and then discarded, but regardless, the world is shoved together like pieces of different jigsaw puzzles that don’t quite match.
It’s not a fun experience.
Players can request the parts of their characters worlds that are dragged in, or suggest items that they’d like to have from other fandoms in the Wasteland, but they aren’t large pieces. For example, you can’t have an entire branch of Primatech paper, but you could have a slice of the building containing a lab, or a containment area.
When a new section of a world arrives, things get slammed together. Day/night cycles get smushed together, causing complicated varying sections of night and day against the sky. Buildings get slammed together, sometimes leaving rubble, sometimes mismatched buildings slammed together. Roads go from dirt paths to paved streets within the same block.
-- Technology and Clothing --
Level Technology Status: Whatever’s on the pieces of world falls through to the Wasteland, but the level itself doesn’t have any technology native to the level, which means none of the technology added in will work. If you’re intuitive, you can try and piece some things together, but they won’t last very long, and there’s no kind of centralized network.
Method of Communication: In the center of the level is the “eye of the storm,” so to speak-one part of the area that’s consistent regardless of the world pieces that are thrown into it. On that small area, is a structure about the size of a police box. Inside the box is a bulletin board where people can pin notes. The note will stay there for as long as it’s pinned there, but that doesn’t mean that things won’t be pinned on top of it or that notes can’t be ripped away.
Apparel Status: People wear whatever they arrive in. They can scavenge for clothes and other supplies in the remains of the new buildings that arrive, but other than that, they’re left with the clothes on their back.
-- Environment --
Day/Night Cycle: Varies, depending on the remains of the world you’re standing in. As far as the Wasteland is concerned-there is no night cycle. It’s day all the time.
Weather/Climate: Again, varies depending on the remains of the world, but the Wasteland usually is dry, with a bit of wind every once in a while.
Wildlife/Animals: The Wasteland has no native wildlife. Occasionally some will fall through with the world pieces and happen to survive, but that doesn’t happen often that the level is overpopulated.
Land Status: Varies. The land itself is desert-like, but when the pieces land on top, the land changes-cities, lakes, mountain ranges-whatever’s fallen through becomes part of the world, but the Level itself is about the size of a small city, to accommodate all the changes but not give the residents too much room to roam.
-- Survival 101 --
Residences: Provided that the buildings survive the initial impact, the residents are more than welcome to find shelter in those buildings. Mind you, they won’t be there forever, so it’s advised that the residents keep moving and not stay in one place for too long.
Food: Residents are more than welcome to scrounge for food in the other world pieces, but regular food drops of fruit and other non-perishables at the police box in the center of the level.
Employment: There are no jobs. Food is provided and there aren’t really things to buy.
Obstacles/Challenges: Some of the world pieces that are dropped down to the Wasteland have become unstable for various reasons. The level in and of itself is a challenge, because survival of its residents is not the level’s concern. Aside from the food drops made, the residents are basically on their own.
Also, once every three month cycle, more room is made for other pieces to be added, so the older areas of the Wasteland will be disposed of completely. Announcements and warnings are regularly made, but anyone caught in the vortex when it appears will likely be killed in the expulsion of the old trash. The cycle mostly works like this:
Month 1: New world pieces are added.
Month 2: Static
Month 3: The vortex is opened to send an old section of the world away.
And after that, the whole thing starts all over again.
-- Policies and Laws --
Death: Death is permanent and irreversible unless you have magic blood or some kind of other magic/ability. The bodies are left to be cleaned up when the vortexes go through.
Magic: Magic exists and can be used, but only if someone has the knowledge and the skill-they’re not planning on teaching you any.
Crime: Exists, but not enforced. No one really cares.
Marriage: You find someone who can officiate? Go for it.
Non-Humans: Non-humans exist and are viable residents, but they need to find their own way to survive, just like everyone else.
