that's interesting. it's funny how low the literacy rates are in general, not just with an idiotic president. in such a "magnificent" country where everyone has the ability to be educated, the rates can still be insanely low. newspapers are required to write at a 6th grade reading level.
This may be a bit off the subject - I went to the link, and it was interesting to read. However, I have noticed that a lot of people take Bush as stupid. I think this is a big mistake. Do you think that the corporations and capitalists he really works for would put someone into office that didn't know what they were doing? I think people need to make a more radical analysis, and realize that you cannot be so ruthlessly successful in controling the world if you don't know what you are doing. Sure, they (the Bush government) always tries to blame everything on their own ignorance, Iraq - There is no way we could have known that there actually never were any weapons of mass destruction...oops.. Hurricane Katrina - There is no way we could have known that it was going to flood the entire city and it would take 3 days for federal help to arrive...oops September 11th - There is no way we could have known that someone would use an airplane as a bomb...oops
( ... )
It says on the website that a lot of presidents might actually downplay their actual intelligence to comply with low literacy rates that the viewers have, which is an interesting approach. I think a lot of the publicity going to him being an air head takes peoples mind off of what is really going on, maybe? Either way it's ridiculous.
