In touch with "reality"

What does Lisa think about The Amazing Race, Survivor, and American Idol? Find out...after the break.

I was happy that Tammy and Victor won TAR. By the end, the formerly obnoxious brother and sister team was the only ones I could stand. There has been some backlash among fans who think they got an unfair advantage in China, but I think that's crap. I mean, the two of them very, very nearly were elminiated back in Transylvania- so they never would have gotten to China to use their mad Chinese skills. Good for them!

I was underwhelmed by the Survivor finale, only because I was rooting for Stephen. JT was a good player, but I think he got too much credit for the strategic moves that Stephen masterminded. As long as it wasn't Coach or Debbie, though, I'm fine. My husband loved Coach. Thought he was hilarious. Wants him to move in with us. No accounting for taste, I guess...

As for American Idol- I thought the finale was pretty good. Kris was amazing on his first number, and Adam was OK. Adam was good on his second number, and Kris was OK. The "coronation song" was awful, so neither of them were that great. Adam was technically better, but I thought Kris's performance was better- more emotional, more sincere. I don't like it when people use "theatrical" as an insult against Adam, but I think in this case his theatricality hurt him somewhat- his emoting maybe played well in the theater, but it came across as overdone on TV. Kris, however, was perfect emotionally, but his singing was not spot-on.

I'm happy with either winner, really, and I look forward to hearing their songs on my radio. I hear David Cook, Chris Sligh, Phil...whatever his last name was, Mandisa, Carrie Underwood, Daughtry, and Kelly Clarkson regularly. I'll bet good money I'm hearing Gokey on the Christian station soon enough.
