Haiti

I visited Haiti twice in my teens- when I was 14 or 15, and again when I was 18. It was very hot and very, very poor, and the work I did there (helping to clear a field to build a clinic, weeding a pineapple patch, and working with the sponsored children at the missionary school) was very hard and very rewarding

Catching up on my corporate email - my company just donated $100,000 to the Red Cross to help. It seems like such a huge number but you wonder if it really makes any difference at all when dealing with something so major.

Yeah, but when you can feed someone for like 65 cents a day, it really will help. That makes me feel good.
