I prefer things that are canon compliant. Missing scenes or canon fix-its are right up my alley! Details like callbacks and parallels make me really happy when I find them in fic or art. I also like scientific/medical realism, honest characterization (including acknowledging the social networks characters belong to) and humor. As for tropes: I like happy/hopeful endings, friends to lovers, first/last time, enemies to lovers, grand sacrifices for others, reunions, and mutual pining.

I could've written this! Exactly what I'm looking for but so hard to find. And, yes, yes, yes to women having more/equal power.

Is there more going on over at Dreamwidth? I have an account there but haven't used it in the longest time.

There are way more active fannish communities for sure! I figured there had to be two reasons for the crawling friendspage:

1. Users have migrated to other fannish platforms. (Especially Tumblr and twitter)
2. I haven't been seeking out active communities. So I combed through some interesting looking ones and ended up adding a few, but also saw a lot of "last posted in 2013" or "last posted in 2015", which points to 1.

It's been nice to see the upsurge in activity that comes with Yuletide, but with LJ moving to Russian servers, there has been a lot of frantic moving to DW. I'll add you there, if you'd like! What's your username?
