People like that-- if they can rightly be called people-- should NOT be allowed to own animals. That's not even the worst, either. People come to the vets' office and ask to have their dog put down because he's getting old and not so cute when he has a skin infection, so can you just kill him off so we can get a new puppy?
They... people like that shouldn't be allowed to own BUGS.
*hugs* Major kudos to you, though, Nscangal. It's people like you that make the human race not as evil. *hugs again* Don't worry about the jerks-- I promise you, they'll get theirs.
I mean, I'm no animal rights activist - I don't believe that animals should be thought of as furry humans or anything like that - but there's a few standards of basic decency that should be held to, and some things just should not be done.
*snorts* Neither am I, but I can't stand seeing animals mistreated just because their owners are stupid. I heard from a vetrinary clinic a story about a women trying to switch her dog onto a 'vegetarian' diet. Naturally, the poor animal was suffering from malnutrition and other fun things when she brought it into the clinic, and she actually ISISTED her dog keep to that diet!
The idiot ex-owner of our current dog wasn't content to just abandon her. Oh no. He had to blow a hole through her neck that she'll never fully recover from due to nerve damage for the nerves serving her face, and then leave her to wander the forest wounded, infected, and alone for three days
( ... )
Didn't Terry Prachett (forgive my spelling, because I know it's probably wrong -_-) already do that with Death?
Ugh. I hate people who don't bother taking care of their pets. Speaking as someone who spends entire mornings at the humane society walking dogs, yes, it is a lot of work to look after the dog. But if you bloody well want a dog, you should damn well be prepared to take care of it. It isn't a nice vase you only have to dust occasionaly, it's a LIVING creature that needs to be fed, watered and cleaned up after. Heck, I clean up after dogs and I don't get the added plus of knowing I have to.
Sure for the rant. Bad pet owners really piss me off, which is probably because I see so many. Can't look away from the path/road when I go out for walks, because people can't be arsed to clean up after their dogs and it's disgusting.
