In karate class, one of the people mucked up her knee. She's going to go to the doctor if it still hurts tomorrow. I wound up having to act as a human crutch so she could get to her car, and again so she could get into the student union building and work on a project with some friends ( Read more... )

Ouch! Knee injuries are baaaad... I've managed to escape any, but my mom, my brother and my sister have all had full or partial knee reconstructions.

What can I say - we're a weak-kneed family, obviously!

Two things I've been meaning to ask for a while:

1. What's go? Seems to be a game, yes?
2. What's GO? Seems to be a book of some description?

Sorry, but I've just been a little confused... :-) Enlighten me please, if you so desire!

*snerk* Actually, I very nearly mucked up my bad knee again today. Had my leg locked during a takedown and hyperextended my leg... And that would be a Very Bad Thing.

It is famous as one of the simplest games to learn and most difficult games to master in the world. It's said that samurai played it as preparation for battle. For more information, I suggest you check out the Sensei's Library intro section and for a quick intro in how to play go, I suggest the Kiseido Go Server Tutorial. Oh! Good Omens. That's been on my 'To read' list for a long time now!

I'll have to have a look at the go websites - it sounds like an interesting game. Thanks for the links - I'll check them out once I've finished studying for my midterm.

Well, if you can manage to get your hands on it, I strongly suggest you plan out to have as much time as it usually takes you to read a 400-page book free when you start it. It's literally of "Just can't put it down" calibre.
