There’s two cosplay event yesterday. One is an extra to the
HotGame Ville event at
Gandaria City and the other one is Hanami Festival at
Emporium Pluit right across the street from my place. I choose the first one, partly to meet with
taikoubouand
savitri-strife. The other part of the reason is I want to try exploring that mall and try the menu at
Basilico restaurant.
On Friday, I thought this event would have more participants because it’s planned first and should’ve been promoted earlier to gain traction. Oh how I have underestimated the KKG’s marketing communication ability for focusing on those that already proven to make money and not helping those that really need to be helped with advertising blow-up. More about that in my WordPress blog.
I heard the event near home had lots of participants… oh, and it’s just walking distance from home :P
Another small detail I forgot is actually the pattern of two-days weekend cosplay event. If the event is held across two days (even if Saturday is only for registration) then there won’t be a lot of peoples coming. Cosplayers, especially school age teenagers, had school to attend and rather than rushing to the event why not coming on Sunday instead. So… yeah, should’ve been pessimistic about coming on Saturday even if there’s a lot of peoples coming in the end.
Oh, the location. Gandaria City is just like Senayan City in disguise. The interior used the same design concept except the “Main Street” area that are themed like Grand Indonesia or Artha Gading.
I end up going to a restaurant named Gio Vanese instead. Same Italian restaurant, but it has wi-fi, hot water refill for tea and also 25% discount. The price is about the same as other Italian restaurant, 40~60k per standard fare pasta. Not sure I’d like to come here again though, because of the location.
