so i got my wii back from repair and it seems to be working properly again. I also bought mario kart which is sooooooooo fun, but alot harder than my ds version. Jason also Pre ordered the wii-fit for my mother's day gift! I'm very excited about that! it should be out the end of this month

The laptop might be trying to use the same IP address that the Wii has taken. If that's the case, you should be able to fix that by setting them to use two different static IP addresses... or if at least one of them is set to get an IP automatically, the router should be smart enough not to assign them both the same one... but it might not be.
Also, I think it's awesome that you're getting him started on video games at an early age. That's gotta be good for cognitive development, and I'm not even jokin'.
