you have almost identical picks as George Clooney! Differ only on Adapted screenplay and Supporting Actress. I don't care much for the Oscars, but if Bardem doesn't win for Old men, I will be pissed off.
Haha those are my second choices for those two categories too. Amy Ryan was amazing in Gone Baby Gone but I think the Academy will give it to Blanchett for playing Bob Dylan. Adapted screenplay is just tough because a lot of times it's the conciliatory prize for who doesn't win best picture. Bardem will win best supporting actor. I think that's the one everyone is agreeing on.
i dont know if its true, but i heard that if someone gets more than one nomination (like blanchett for best and supporting actress) they usually don't win anything.
And i think that There Will Be Blood might win a bunch of stuff just because it got so much hype from the media.
Jamie Foxx was nominated for best actor and best supporting actor the year he won for Ray. Cate might not win and if she doesn't it will be Amy Ryan for Gone Baby Gone. I think No Country got more hype and I saw There WIll Be Blood and although it was good, the best part of it was the acting. Daniel Day-Lewis is amazing and Paul Dano does a surprisingly good job although he isn't nominated for anything. It could win cinematography cause that was good but it's main competition there in my opinion is The Assassination of Jesse James By The Coward Robert Ford. If No Country gets subbed Atonement will win best picture.
