I have followed your posts for a while now, and I do wonder why you continue to live in Spain when you clearly have so much to complain about.
Spain will never be like the USA, and vice versa. But surely you should stop comparing, and enjoy it for what it really is and what it has to offer. Yes life in Spain has it's pitfalls, but so does life in the States. Nowhere is perfect.
If everywhere in the world was the same, had the same shops, people, attitudes, customs and ways of life, I for one would be very sad.
Just one more thing.... you surely cannot be blaming the fact that you live in Spain for not staying in shape. Your body is your responsibility. Spain should not have to motivate you to stay in shape and take care of yourself, it is your duty and yours alone.
I don't believe she is "blaming the fact that [she lives] in Spain for not staying in shape." All she said was that she was more motivated to stay in shape when she lived in Hawaii.
Hi, I just wanted to say that I enjoyed reading your observations about Spain. They make me feel homesick on your behalf, though I'm sure there are good things about Spain too that you just haven't mentioned.
