I jokingly once said we now have the technology to make 2 different versions of Quentin Tarantino films, the original and the one where Quentin Tarantino (the actor) has been mercifully edited out through the magic of CGI. Okay, so I've looked at the DVD. The famed film historian guru person, Otto Penzler, has JUST PLAIN GOT IT WRONG. I watched the film originally some 10 years ago and the cop died EXACTLY like I remembered. What the Hell, geniuses who makes "top 101" published LISTS of films aren't expected to remember what happens? Errors include: Mr Blonde is never accused of confessing to be a dirty cop, the hostage doesn't survive, but Mr Pink DOES. I can understand maybe one of these errors (perhaps) but a fundamental understanding of who was the good guy and the bad guy and why the crime occurred suggests you shouldn't be putting this on your "top 101" list. If you didn't bother with the Cliff Notes version of the film, why not pick an equally impressive film like, uh, why not Pulp Fiction? Why not Dog Day Afternoon, Gorky Park, Cape Fear or Robocop? Why not The Big Lewbowki? And while we're talking Coens, WHY NOT MILLER'S CROSSING??

This is why you shouldn't trust authority.
