Hey everyone, life's been crazy busy.
I joined The Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia which means I now have yet more letters after my name [which hopefully will come in handy the next time I play Scrabble] and I currently have three jobs [I'm a workaholic, apparently] and my main job has me off ON AUDIT at the moment [which is making me yet more of a workaholic: except for booze, not work] so yes, lots going on! As always I've been buying videogames for my myriad of systems and heck, I even spent A SOLID HOUR playing ONE OF THEM the OTHER DAY so that particular form of retail therapy can't be a TOTAL WASTE.
Anyway, working the crazy hours I've been doing nudges me into the danger territory of "frivolous spending on awesome things you don't need = relaxing" and last week I finally pushed the stress needle into the red and said "You know what? I'm only going to use it at the bus stop once or twice a week, but that won't stop me dropping an obscene amount of money on an iPod!". So I did some research and found you can get iPods that play MOVIES and TV SHOWS and I'm like "Yes! I can watch Undergrads or Aqua Teen Hunger Force (again) at opportune future moments!". I knew what I wanted, and most stores carried them. It was a plan that couldn't possibly fail.
And then it failed. American Express [which is hot'n'heavy to form an Evil Alliance with the Chartered Accountant Death Star] basically offered me [as a new Chartered Accountant] a 1/4 price 80gb iPod, which I accepted.. but it doesn't arrive in the post for 2 weeks. So now I can't buy an iPod (or other music player), and I need to spend money recklessly on stuff in the meantime between Stressful Now and Hello Ipod. And then today (yesterday) the stress needle nudged into the black region, I took a long lunch hour and...
