Dear Diary,
This week was a DRAMA because we are doing DRAMA!
All the drama groups were fantastic! I really enjoyed watching the different groups portraying their different ideas and perspective of their characters and setting. While physically some groups seemed to put more effort than others but to me everyone emotionally put their heart into it.
No matter if you are the script writer, backstage manager, prop helper or actor; everyone has an important part to play, that’s why it’s called “a play”.
My part was to organise all the props that were needed for the show. Since I don’t have a car and my part didn’t seem challenging enough I decided to make my own frying pans out of cardboard.
<---using them at home
I was glad they turned out great! ^^
*Special thanks to group 6! Thanks to all the wonderful actress and actors~ :D
This week is the end of studying Judith Wright’s poetry :’( which is really sad because I love her work. While commenting in the discussion groups and analyzing her work, I could easily understand her perspective and emotions for I related her work to another brilliant artist that express himself through anime.

His name is Hayao Miyazaki, he is the creator of Studio Ghibli (which is like a Japanese version of Disney). Most of his movies focus on nature and the way humans react to their environment, in his movies such as
Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind and Princess Mononoke (both which are my favourite ^^). Miyazaki still uses the old animation technique of getting animators to draw up every action of the characters and only using technology to join these drawings together to create movement. Through the use of this technique I feel a natural sense towards the animation something that I feel is lost in todays society (and animes). Everything seems so computerized in order to seem “real” that we humans loose our natural gift/ talent that we nurture, the skills that take many years to develop and .master which gives us the fulfillment in the end. LOST?
All of Miyazaki’s works also have a moral to it. Some are simple while some are in depth like Wright’s poems. In
Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind, Nausicaä is a young princess who loves nature. Although her world seems polluted from all toxic gas and wild animals she attempts to clean the world from this pollution and shows her people that humans and nature can live in peace. My explanation may seem boring but it truly is a wonderful movie that you must see!
