A River in the Sky by Elizabeth Peters: set in Israel/Palestine instead of Egypt; just as much mystery, intrigue, and humor as other Peabody/Emerson novels. :)

We have seen RED, which is freaking hilarious, Life As We Know It, which was cute & fun & slightly sad, Legends of the Guardians: the Owls of Ga'hoole, which was good, and finally saw The Blind Side (on HBO) and liked it.

Reading is fun!
Recent reads...including one that made me go "Damn you billdavis!" (LOL! Not really...)
I blame my hubby for A Civil Campaign by Lois McMaster Bujold. A very entertaining sci-fi story, and yes, I'm going to go shopping for more books in the series. The dialogue between characters is fast-paced and frequently very witty. Fun stuff.

Yum! Green Beans Plus
I had stuff to use up, so tonight I combined steamed flat Italian green beans, sliced red and yellow bell peppers, cut up tomatoes, and pepperoni crisps. I then added grated Parmesan and a grind of pepper. Yum! Even better - several parts of dinner were from a local CSA. Yay!!

Just caught up on the books in the Dresden Files series; haven't read any of the shorts/collections. I went through White Night, Small Favor, Turncoat, and Changes in very short order. Me wants Ghost Story NOW, not in the spring of '11!!!
Also just read (finally) Torch of Freedom by Weber & Flint...filling in other Honorverse stories quite nicely ( Read more... ) -
People can be such jackasses
Some people really cannot take a hint. In a conversation with someone recently, a name came up. I said "they are one of my oldest and dearest friends" and the other person acknowledged that and then proceeded to roundly trash my friend. Bitch. I didn't hear another damn word because I stopped listening.
