Totally the only thing I ever post on LJ these days :o
1. What did you do in 2G11 that you'd never done before?
Went to America, fractured my ankle, lived on my own, finally bloody finished Nanowrimo, saw some theatre I really, really, really wanted to see, was able to run for three miles without stopping. There's probably more, but I can't actually remember further back than about August.
2. Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
Resolutions are for people who plan and shit.
3. did anyone close to you give birth?
Uh, not close, though one of our PIs had a delightful child.
4. Did anyone close to you die?
Not that I know of!
5. What countries did you visit?
Americacacacacaca
6. What would you like to have in 2G12 that you lacked in 2G11?
Same old; more of some kind of social life. Also someone to make me tea when I've had a rubbish day.
7. What date from 2G11 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
Uhm, 29th September? I was at the 9/11 memorial and it blew my mind.
8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Not being destitute by now despite having had an impromptu trip to America and deciding to live alone
9. What was your biggest failure?
Bla, boys
10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
Fractured my ankle about a month ago. That was fun.
11. What was the best thing you bought?
Plane tickets to New York.
12. Whose behaviour merited celebration?
Mike and Sarah and Charlotte and Sylvie.
13. Whose behaviour made you depressed?
Wibble?
14. Where did most of your money go?
Rent! Also America.
15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
This is a running theme, but AMERICA. Also, being able to walk without crutches. Phantom of the Opera. And SWTOR because I am a nerd.
16. What song will always remind you of 2G11?
Moves like Jagger. Someone needs to assassinate Maroon 5.
17. Compared to this time last year, are you happier or sadder?
December is lame, so probably the same.

I am liek well fat innit.

Oh, so much poorer it's not even funny.
18. What do you wish you'd done more of?
Need to get back on the running thing, I was doing well before I moved.
19. What do you wish you'd done less of?
Being a lameface, also being bad at boys.
20. How will you be spending/did you spend Christmas?
Will be with my mum, ignoring my dad and probably moping a lot.
21. what was your greatest culinary discovery of 2G11?
I learnt how to make rice properly. This is actually a hell of a big deal. I also have been crowned grand brownie maker of our lab this year, so that probably counts.
22. Did you fall in love in 2G11?
Mffff.
23. How many one night stands?
Technically, zero, depending on our definition >.>
24. What was your favourite TV programme?
Black Mirror was pretty amazing. Doctor Who went a bit wibbly this year, not sure I approve. Watched a tonne of Dexter, that's pretty good.
25. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?
Hate is for silly people.
26. What was the best book you read?
This will sound silly, but Pride and Prejudice. I'd never read it before, but randomly stumbling onto Jane Eyre earlier this year has made me lap up all of this sort of stuff. Jane Austen is unbelievably good with language, it saddens me that I will never be that good. Also, teehee, Mr Darcy >.>
27. What was the best videogame you played?
God, there were a few this year. Portal 2 (that was out this year, right?!) Arkham City, Bastion, SWTOR (shut up, it's like KotoR 3), Deus Ex: HR, and Assassin's Creed: Revelations were all pretty damned good.
28. What was your greatest musical discovery?
Um, good question. I've gone a bit instrumental/soundtrack-y recently, so lets say that.
29. What did you want and get?
Phantom of the Opera, new friend, the chance to stand on top of the Empire State Building and pretend to be King Kong.
30. What did you want and not get?
New friend to be more than just friend
31. What was your favourite film of this year?
I quite liked HP8 as it rounded stuff up nicely. I also have a ridiculous soft spot for the Three Musketeers movie because I want to be a sword fighter when I grow up and such thoughts let me ignore the fact that it was a ridiculous film.
32. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?
Bleh, went to work, had Mike around for drinks later. Had a hangover the next day. I hate birthdays.
33. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
Boys!
34. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2G11?
Bloody same as it's been for the last ten years :p
35. What kept you sane?
Living alone.
36. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?
Matthew Macfadyen, yes please.
37. What political issue stirred you the most?
That the country is basically fucked up and no-one appears to be riding to the rescue.

Not many people, tbh. Getting used to being a hermit now.
