It says something that Don McLeroy got beat in the Republican primary because he's too right-wing. I have my fingers crossed that they'll have to punt the adoptions until next year (and that Bill White will be governor and the Democrat running in my SBOE district will be on the board as well) and the standards will be implemented flexibly.

I don't know of anyone in Texas (even my in-laws, who are country-club Republicans) who isn't appalled at the SBOE right now.

I just told the public school teacher sitting next to me at the cafe about this. She said "This would be worth striking over"
