Game idea for future Ambercon

I have been wanting to run a Star Trek-based game at Ambercon for a while. However, none of the many Star Trek ideas stood out as a "must-run" for the con, so the game kept getting replaced with other "must-run" games. Why 8 players? If this was a game where the players were going to be at odds against one another, I could see a lot of players being valuable. But if everyone is on the same side, then it becomes a lot of people stepping over each other for camera time.

If you were running for a bunch of 20-somethings, I could see Trek being a hard sell. But neither AmberCon is exactly a young crowd.

Plus, it seems like the Browncoat ferver is slowing a bit. It doesn't seem like the Firefly games are filling up (or over filling) quite as they used to.

The game is a game where I want the players to end up at sort-of odds with each other. The game is based around an ethical/moral dilemma...actually several of them. With a small group, you have less of a chance that a player will take an opposing view and more of a chance that everyone will let one leader-player make the decisions. For the dilemmas to be explored and the pros and cons of the choices to be questioned, I want at least 8 and I want all the players to be the same rank so no one can pull rank ( ... )
