USA 2008! Part 5 - In N Out Burger
Another food porn post, this time on the classic american food, hamburger.
The best fastfood burger I've ever had:
In-N-Out Burger
Found only in 4 southwestern states (California, Arizona, Nevada and Utah). Founded in 1948, as its name suggests they are famous for their drive thrus. According to the official website they basically invented it!
The chain is entirely privately owned, and it sticks to just doing what it does best, selling burgers.
"Though times have changed, little has changed at In-N-Out. The menu-burgers, fries and drinks-is still the same basic menu customers have enjoyed since 1948. Everything is still made fresh to order. There are no microwaves or freezers. Customers may observe french fries being made from hand-diced, fresh, whole potatoes. And the shakes are made from real ice cream."
The simple menu consists of just 3 items:
Burgers : Hamburger, Cheesburger, Double Double (double cheesburger)
Fries
Drinks: milk shakes and fountain drinks.

The simple business model and adherence to fresh ingredients (100% fresh ground beef!) makes a huge difference, yummy:
There is a "Secret Menu" that J told us about but we clean forgot, taken as we were by the simplicity of the menu. Don't forget to try it if you see an In N Out near you!
