Can't explain the horrors...

I always had a difficult time making myself be interested in politics. I never saw anyting in the media except yellow-journalism, masked faces, and a regurgitation of something on a whole equal to nothing more than an inhuman hand puppeteering the minds of America. i'm so glad you've taken an eye toward events that surround you. i've always felt so alone looking on in sadness in these things, even in the company of others. i figure others to be more important than me. whether the sudan/darfur affair or iraq or afghanistan. anywhere. it's all a giant melting pot of mess. the tragedy of the world is that much of it doesn't extend beyond much of our front nose. it's why i relish my friends like jess and bob. they do what i cannot, though i should. an open eye is a sad eye. sad to say..... it makes me happy though.

Thank you for that thoughtful reply. I'm glad you see these things, you always have. I think compassion is key... "putting yourself in other people's shoes" is a seldom occurring activity these days.
