i forgot to mention that if you ahvent read the books it might be a little hard to understand. i'll do a quick run down:

Jake and Marco are a part of a group of teenagers who defend the earth from alien invasion. As anime-y as that sounds, the books are very good and it gets very complex. In the books, Jake goes through stages of depression because he is the leader of the group. A lot of people he loves are either infestes or taken from him. Hid entire family is invaded in the end.

Marco is his best friend and had been at his side since the beginning. When I was younger and read the books I always though they should be slashed. Just for the relationship they carried and how close they were.
