So lately I've had the desire to talk to Matt again. I feel so much better about things, and the more I think about it the more I want to clear the air with him. Also, my father asked if I wanted to go to Tampa with him at some point soon (he has something to do there), and I'm 90% sure that if we were to go, we'd stay with Matt.

I feel like the benefits of seeing your friends in Tampa outweigh the possibility of something going badly with Matt...just be wary of being completely alone with him.
