so i was just on my way home and i was listening to neal boortz. He was talking about this woman who had been given the choice by a judge to either go to jail or have he tubes tied. he told her this because she had had 7 children by 7 differant fathers. 4 of these children are already in state custody 2 stay with her mother. If it's unethical to castrate rapists according to the courts then it is unethical to force this woman to become sterile

where as legally you are right. i personally think we should castrate rapists and make them watch it being cut off with nothing to ease the pain. cause even that wouldnt repay the pain they caused.

people who misuse their ability to re-produce should be sterilized. the anger within me swells...

I think the best solution would be psychiatric care, institutionalization... Unfortunately, I disaprove of the current direction modern psychitric medicine is going, and I don't trust the existing institutions. I think the best outcome of this situation is to realize that something is significantly wrong with the way our society operates. The fact that a person can be left to such devices with out recieving sincere and meaningful help and support from her community is simply neglectful. I don't mean to excuse anyones actions, but I am holding the community around these people partionally responsable. (note the difference between responseable and at fault) By community I mean the major influencing factors of this persons life, not nescissarily the people that live near her; like the media she consumes, attitudes and beliefs of the people she interacts with, etc, etc...

As for the second incident you cite, I'm not even going to comment on it.

as for the second one it has come to light that the woman was lieing and that it was her child. she lied because she didnt want her family to know it was hers.

I just don't want to hear about it... I think it's very hypocritical of our media system to exploit the tragedy of peoples personal lives, then refuse to tell us the truth and full detail of the lives of our soldiers and the lives of the people we're intentionally and directly effecting. I find it sadistic and morbid of the media to even report this kind of stuff with any more glory than a small column on the back page.

this is why i don't watch the news or read newspapers. i lost faith in newspapers when they lied in an OBITUARY. i don't like our media.

deleted comment cuz it sounded stupid. i had to re-read the post. i heard the woman was with a man, and they had adopted 7 children... and had them all in the basement to torture them... one of them broke free to go get help, and the couple fled accross country. or maybe more than one person is that fucked up?
