From When?: After his death in "Landslide" (Season 1, Episode 22.)
Inmate/Warden: Warden. At the point of his death, Ted's anger over his powers had subsided when he learns they just happened, and not the fault of anyone. He still carries a burden of guilt regarding his wife Karen, as he accidentally gave her cancer from his radiation, and thus he made a deal with the Admiral. Rehabilitate an inmate or two, and he can see her again.
Item: His burnt wedding ring.
Abilities/Powers: :40 second video of his powers!
Ted has the ability to emit radiation, or explosions, similar to a nuclear bomb. His ability to control his power is severely limited when he is emotionally agitated. He can also release an EMP wave - to shut down Primatech's security/electricity, or jumpstart a car - by "burning bright, not hot".
Thanks to Mr. Bennet's impromptu training en route from Texas to NY, he has complete control over his abilities. Ted's not going to randomly explode over a tiny argument or anything. The most that would happen if he was really upset would be his eyes or his hands glowing fiery orange.
The only time his powers really went supernova was after he was shot. That resulted in the Bennet house getting blown up. More often than not he releases small explosions from his hands (best example of this is, ironically, a :27 vid of Sylar).
Personality: A reserved loner, Ted lets very few get close to him. He'd been that way his whole life, with the exception of Karen. When she died he resorted to the old 'never trust anyone' ideology. The short list of friends he does have - for example, Matt Parkman or (begrudgingly) Noah Bennet - he's fiercely loyal to. When friends need something, he'd help out in any way he could.
On the barge, that desire to help would extend to all wardens. Though he'd attempt to not get involved in conflict, he wouldn't sit back and let anyone, warden or inmate, get hurt if he could prevent it. In a way, he's very determined and quite stubborn. If he sets his mind to something, be it his inmate's rehab or controlling his own power, he'll do it.
Ted is somewhat temperamental, unfortunately. He can become easily frustrated if things don't go according to plan. His power is tied to his emotions, and his hands may glow as his anger flares up. However, he has enough control over his power to not cause a nuclear meltdown.
