I tried to comment on the original incarnation of this entry, and it disappeared a second or two before I hit the link. Very suspicious.

There's nothing better than a sudden, crazy trip across a continent (or, at least, up the side of one) to see an old/good/wonderful/best friend. I highly approve, not that it matters.

And yes, I do think this trip will do me a world of good. It's been so long since I've left the state, I just may die of exhilaration[!] Nonetheless, thank you for your take on the matter.

I edit mine instead of reposting. Almost as bad of a habit. I wish there was some sort of preview function for posts, too, but I suppose the programmers-that-be think that the average person doesn't care. They're probably right, too.

This is entirely peripheral, but: your phrasing style is really interesting. I don't know what it is. I should know, I'm in a linguistics course this semester, but I can't nail it down. It's very literary, but with just a touch of familiarity... you seem like you should be a writer but I don't know if you are or not. You are rather deft with the language -- or at least you're good at pretending.

I like linguistic skills a little too much for my own good, I suppose... or maybe I just have a semicolon fetish.
