Yo ladies--I'm technically not part of this community anymore (or very active on livejournal at all), but I picked up this book today: http://www.amazon.com/Bodies-out-Bounds-Fatness-Transgression/dp/0520225856/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1294267957&sr=8-1

for $5 at an anarchist bookstore, and though I haven't read it through completely yet, I want to totally recommend it based on what I have read. Thought of you peeps on this corner of the internet first.

Read her post about how she doesn't want to be fat anymore. Flip flop flip flop.

i love how she blames getting winded going up a flight of stairs on the fat rather than her smoking.

"hey jess,

a friend of mine publishes a weird short run philosophical/literary
journal called 'letters' and is trying to compile writing about fatness
for the newest edition. I'm going to be writing something (not sure what
quite yet) but thought you might be interested. what do you think? do you
write very much?"

"A CALL FOR WRITING

Letters Journal seeks essays about fatness: the emotional and physical
experience of being fat, becoming fat, no longer being fat, fearing
fatness, being aroused or repulsed by fatness, and etcetera.

Please send queries to editor(at)lettersjournal.org or write to 838 E.

Published writers will be paid poorly for their efforts.

all the best,
