After five harrowing months of working night shift, I'm back on days again. I was supposed to stay on for another month, but my nightly ride home had to transfer back to days on account of a family situation, so I got an early reprieve

I can only thank my lucky stars that it wasn't graveyard shift. I would have been dead for sure.

Ugh. My spouse has been working graveyard for more than a year and a half now. I keep pestering him to apply for other things, but he winds up being too tired during the day to do much else than sleep.
