Sorry to hear about that... it sounded like a lot of fun, and edumacationable, too...

But there is... Origins, no? It's not quite a boobie prize, ya know. Well, I suppose it kinda could be, but that's neither here nor there, is it... :)

The problem is, all of my tables have already been given away in the SJ room to other GMs. So I would be at completly loose ends while there.

The only thing I can think of is to see if I can get a press badge, and do coverage of teh con for The Lady Gamer (http://www.theladygamer.com).

Being in the industry myself, I know how it goes when your vendor table has been accidentally given away, or your scheduled demo games got "disappeared" from the book and your tables given to someone else. And thus, being at loose ends at a con can really suck. But then I made a discovery...

Did you know that there are actually games to play at a convention? You know, as in to have fun with, just to play the game, not to demo, or try to sell it?

When I discovered that, I was plum flabbergasted... Play games at a con. Just for fun. Who woulda thunk it? :)

I myself will be there to cover the show, and product releases, and so forth. No booth, no demos, no nuthin'. You know what... I'm gonna just sit down and play some games this time.

Hope to see you there...

The biggest problem in that, is that there is no game right now that has me interested enough to go to Origins. The problem is, I am bored with any kind of gaming that is not online. I dont have a place to play around here, and even if I did, there is no one here to game with. So I cant justify spending the money on a game that I might be interested in just to play a few times a year at a major convention. See what I am getting at? Going through the dealers hall at previous gencons and origins has not had a game catch my attention either.

I used to attend Origins to see my friend Mike. Now, that can not happen anymore. I was running games for SJ to fill that hole, but it looks like I dont have space in the rooms anymore due to having to cancel for this class. Which is now canceled. I am tempted just to stay home that weekend, and play eq2 or swg all weekend and ignore everything.

I'd still like to see you... rileybear67 February 15 2005, 15:34:29 UTC
But in the end, do what you are comfortable with.

I am sorry you don't get to go to Hawaii. Maybe next year!
