The morning after, they shared a series of pleasantries... but in the end, they knew. They knew what it was... and what was meant to be. No regrets, they said and parted ways.
Several weeks. No regrets. So, why was he still thinking about her?
Another day. Another case. This time they were waiting for Homeland Security to assist. Colby was sure whoever they sent would be like every other arrogant and deceitful Homeland man he'd ever met.
"This is Agent Walker," Don introduced.
Colby looked up. Fire. Sparks. She was there.
