He knew when he stepped off the elevator she would be gone again. Agent Callasandra Walker… a random encounter, a chance reunion, a scorching moment of remembrance - no more now than smoke and ash.
Colby sat down, an uncharacteristic scowl upon his face.
No regrets. Remember, Granger? He asked himself, running his hands over his hair, trying to rid himself of her smile.
His scowl turned to confusion as he reached for a new memo on his desk - his name on the outside, stamped CLASSIFIED.
“Dinner. Tonight. My place. Eight sharp.”
He should have known she’d be full of surprises.
