Oh goodness! I had this sappy smile starting to form throughout the last scene of this, and then there was that last line!!!!

Now I don't know what to think! But in a way I love that, because real life isn't neat and tidy and obvious, and Liz's character is what it is.

I didn't see the Nikki/Colby coming, not that serious, not with Liz's observations about Nikki's walls. But I guess for one thing, narrators are always unreliable; for another, that was how it was (probably) with *Liz*, not with everyone; and finally, who knows what it is that Nikki and Colby have together?

All of which is leading me to second rodloxs comment about a sequel. *g*

Typical Ian, btw, working more than one job at once! And also typical that he has a laconic quip for every occasion, even when squeezed down a ventilation shaft.

I really enjoyed this story.
