I am in love already. The mother henning. The witty banter between David and Colby. The little details. Kudos for the "Miss Daisy" reference. That was great. Also Cobly talking to Liz was so hilarious. He would try to be all gentlemanly about it. And methinks you are too right about Don. If it had been left up to him, no one would know until shit hit the fan.

Nikki seems delightfully clueless so far. Definitely snorted at the "he always gets his man" bit. Double entendre indeed.

You've set up a great dynamic between Don and Colby here as well. A lot of real feelings and a good mix of denial and awkwardness. Can't wait to see how it pans out for them. :)

Also? Alan as a wine snob? Can definitely picture it.

I'm really glad you enjoyed this! I was quite terrified going in, as the longest Numb3rs piece I'd written by that point was about 500 words, but your wonderful prompts really helped and it was so nice to hear that you enjoyed it.

A great start. I liked the office banter, Colby's awkward chat with Liz and Nikki's apparent cluelessness (so far?).

I also liked the dynamic between Colby and Don. I loved the bit where Colby was thinking about going home after work and waiting for Agent Eppes to become Don and how he adjusts his behaviour accordingly. They're certainly hot together in Don's big bed and too-small couch :).

What will happen when Ian arrives?
