Dissertation and finals do not a happy Muse make. Luckily, I have an outline, and more importantly, all of next week off. So hopefully I should be on track. /crosses fingers and sets out chocolate and Colby cheese for muse/
Let me know if you are still behind at the end of your week off. I know that cerealkiller0 is also in the middle of exams when the drafts are due, so I think we've got a good case for putting the whole timetable back a couple of weeks if people need it.
/sigh... Well... I have like 4 pages written with muse not contributing anything else... on a story I hadn't planned on contributing for MBB. The story I originally had in mind has gone no where really. I have a damn muse for a SGA fic -- which I've *never* written for and it's... annoying the heck out of me. Also, with my computer and dental issues, 'cognitive ability' has been strained.
1) I may have to bow out. 2) I may ask for an extension.
Suggestion... is there any way of actually extending the deadline? Or are the majority of the writers on track?
I'm more than happy to move the whole timetable back a couple/few weeks or a month if people need it. I know you've got both health and computer issues, and both cerealkiller and Tam have exams/finals/dissertations.
I think what it comes down to is, do people think they could get a 10,000 story out if we extend the timetable?
I always knew that not everyone who signed up would end up submitting a draft - that's just the way of things. *g* But if the people wanting an extension think they have a fighting chance of having a story ready, I'm all for extending.
I've got about 5k and I feel like I'm nicely on track for hitting the 10k word count. I finally hit my groove with this story, I think, but I have the distinct feeling the fic is going to end up being closer to 15k so I'm not entirely sure I'll have a completed draft by the draft due date.
I have another big bang draft due around the same time that still needs about 4k, so moving the due date back a little bit would be just fine with me!
I don't see a problem with extending the due date. We have people with exams, health issues etc, and now a bunny that is insisting on growing in your case, not to mention another big bang.
So, any idea how long you'd like? I might do a post and get a consensus of how much more time people would like - 2 weeks? A month?
Two weeks sounds awesome to me. I don't really want to shelve it and lose my momentum entirely, and I'm enough of a procrastinator that I need that deadline looming over me, LOL! But I'm good with what everyone else wants.
