I am growing rather fond of Roman Polanski (as a director, of course).

And the college library is a fine source for obscurish, artsy-fartsy films I had for so long wanted to see but couldn't due to the oppressive Bloke-Booster Regime that has marginalized quality and introduced mediocrity to the proletariat. The only downside is a 3-day loan ( Read more... )

No shit... you AREN'T dead.

I've seen Rosemary's Baby (the book was better), but that's about it for Polanski. Hell, I didn't even know that he directed that film.

In completely unrelated movie news, I just got back from seeing Silent Hill, which, just like almost everything else, you would hate. Ironically, I thought that they actually focused too much on the story and no enough on weaving a web of visual terror. There were a couple extreme gore scenes that any horror fan should appreciate. Maybe I'll make you watch it when the unrated version comes out on DVD...
