My procrastination toward developing a list of the Best/Worst movies of the year always winds up a half-failure, since I feel I should be jazzing it up with some explanation (instead of just the same old, ascending-numerical listing) as to why I like/dislike said movies. I remember sitting in the theater watching it, mentally checking off every single movie it ripped off. Bottom line: it was a big-budget gloss on Escape from New York, but without any of the fun or humor.

I still need to see Diary of the Dead. I saw the "Crackbone" parodies on youtube ("CUT THEM FAGGOTS UP. C'MON! GOT THE BRAINDOGS!") but that's it.

Is it at least better than Land (which sucked)?

I liked Diary a lot. But then again, I also liked Land (for the most part).

Hey, I'm happy for Mr. Statham and his solid gold toilet, but that doesn't change the fact that Death Race sucks monkey ass. Though I would say that the movie's badness isn't Statham's fault--English wanker Paul W.S. Anderson is just incapable of making even a decent film (he gave us Mortal Kombat, after all).

And isn't that kind of a paradox? Why would Jason Statham ask you out on a date if he was getting a back massage from a supermodel?
