Up until the last 40 pages or so, Shutter Island is a fantastic read. And even those last 40 pages aren't so bad; they just kind of diminish a lot of the mystery that has amassed up to that point. Perhaps that's just my way of saying I wish it had gone even further in its themes and characterizations. (Or had at least refrained from a certain style

I think college really made me sick of reading; as a lit major, it's all I did. And while I read a lot of cool stuff I wouldn't have otherwise, I think I got burned out after graduation. I think I've read less in the past 2 years than I have in my entire life.
