i shall put together a bunch of dvds for you then and make my way in sometime soon. I have 3 out of 5 of the series of alias i'd love to lend you. it's a bit along the lines of 24... somewhat preposterous, like 24, but a rolicking good ride as well. a friend has 2 of the series and i just today finished the final season, so when i get the others back, i'll get them to you as well. in the meantime, i think i have a few things you'll like.
sorry to hear you hated match point. did you like proof?
did you say you liked sci fi? as i have the entire series of firefly which you might like. what about lost? i have series 1 and 2. have you seen that?
H and i had a little chuckle at having passed on the 24 addiction sufficiently to make you order series 1 and 2 :) I'm a little jealous that you have those ahead of you to look forward to...
I thought Proof was a fantastic movie. Can't think why I didn't mention it beforehand. I'm a raving fan of scifi. Except for stuff like Startrek. I've been tempted by Firefly but can't help wondering why it was canceled so soon, so if i can try without buying, that would be great. Blade, underworld, xmen, 28 days are all in my library - as is LOTR, Starwars, and anything that comes out of the new wave of animation.
Whatever you do, don't go to great lengths for me. Christmas is coming! are you ready?
How are you and how is Mrs. #1 doing?chessiegirlDecember 21 2006, 00:38:03 UTC
Hi #1, I'm so sorry you had more trouble with rejection but it sounds as if you're doing better now. I was wondering how Mrs. #1 was doing and if your step-grand-child had arrived yet.
Six months is a long long time to be in a hospital so it is no wonder you are feeling sorry for yourself. I would, too.
My oldest daughter adored Firefly and was very unhappy when it was cancelled. She promptly went out and bought the entire series and holed herself up in her room to watch it hour after hour.
I know one movie I recently saw that was quite intriguing was a movie called The Island with Ewan McGregor and Uma Thurman. I highly recommend it if you haven't seen it yet.
Hope you continue to get stronger everyday. We're all pulling for you.

Hi Chessie. I can't seem to shake off the various bugs that decide to make a meal of me. So I'm in almost perpetual fever. Not fun, but bearable because they're not rejection incidents.
Mrs number1son was operated on Monday and is "comfortable". I can't go see her because I'm too wired and tubed up, and she's in another building on the campus. We talk everyday on the phone, however. She's not looking forward to 3 weeks flat on her back.
I enjoyed The Island very much. Particularly because it had one of my fetish actresses in it: Tilda Swinton.
Still no sign of the the little one. I think he's hanging out for Christmas day.

Hi #1Son, I hope you had as Merry a Christmas as one can have in the hospital. I just wondered how the two of you were doing and if you were still having fevers. Sometimes I wonder if it's not healthier for a person to be out of the hospital than in it. My dad had MS for about 23 years, as you know, and each time he would go into the hospital, he would get something 10x worse than what he went in for. Used to make my mom so mad and she would actually fight with the doctor about putting him in. I'm hoping this finds you a little improved with no more rejection incidents and Mrs. #1 doing well, too. Oh, and the little one I hope has arrived by now

Hi Chessiegirl.
Christmas was awful. I had another (albeit minor) rejection episode, so didn't get to see much of it anyway. Mrs Number1son is doing fine. We speak on the phone every day and I can tell from her voice that she appreciates there being someone around all the time.
I'm not surprised you don't remember Tilda from The Island. She wasn't in it! My bad. I had The Beach on my mind, where she played the strong community leader. To nudge your memory some more, she played the Witch in Narnia, and Gabriel in Constantine.
I've no idea where I am with Second Life. I didn't have time to sort things out in July. I expect I've expired or something because the credit card they had for me expired in September. The client is too large for me to download over 56k, so I'm not going there for a while.

sounds like you're due for something new then. finished all you want to watch? ready for a new haul?
do you have restrictions on what you can eat? because i could always bring more dvds and a pack of takeaway sushi.

I'd love to see more dvds, i downloaded and installed AnyDVD which allows me play zone 1 discs, so no worries there.
I'm sorely tempted by the sushi, but anything raw is a no no.
ps: i hated Match Point.
