Character rant (Re : Veilena Ceile Noire)
I remember that some time ago, I gave Lina's mom a name. For a while, I thought it was Nalia, but Nalia was actually the name of Lina's aunt. Her father's twin sister.
So anyway later on I kind of remember naming her Lena. Because Lina was Lina, and Mikel'ja did end up falling in love with her, thus naming the daughter that. Working on that (and my own name), I decided to call her Veilena Ceille Noire(-Arel).
Noire is her maiden name. As I had planned before, Veilena was an adventurous feminist who travels the world to find mysteries and ...well, adventures. She is also the cousin of Mikel'ja's long time lover, Salan G. Noire. Salan got the idea to hook them both up because Mikel'ja had wanted a child, and Veilena's parents had been wanting to get her hitched since forever.
So a contract marriage was set between the two (though with much persuasion and promises to leave her alone after that, on Vei's side).
After Lina was born, Vei lived with Mikel'ja for three years before the contract ended. She then left to continue on her quests.
These are all old news in my head. What's new now (other than her name) is that Vei has gang that she travels with. A group of six including herself.
Lloyd is a fatherly linguist who specializes in a lot of known languages, and some of the old language. For those that he doesn't know, he could pick them up very well upon exposure.
Then there's Tepper the (near) obligatory Kani (a human-wolf race I created) . We all have to have Kanis :3
Actually the name Tepper was made by me a while ago. I think it was also the name I used for the cat/dog boy who was partially with Nadir, the first kani I created. Anyway it was a spur of the moment thing and unimportant.
Where there's a kani, I also never lose the chance to have an aisseur for them. Aisseur is something like a soulmate for a kani. They usually end up as lovers, but there are also those who became the best of friends, or are relatives with really close ties and such.
For Tepper, his aisseur was a guy named Top. But I decided to drop top when I was reducing the member number and replace him with an existing member called Clede.
Then there's the fourth named Boss. A fifth - Visque.
These two haven't got much about them yet. So all together with Vei they are six people a gang.
Another new thing in the story of Veilena is a man named Sevenous.
I need to run to go back home now, so I'll detail on Sevenous in another post when I get back.
