i don't remember the photographer, but that is evelyn mchale seconds after she jumped off the empire state building and made that impossibly dainty landing on a parked car.

Right. This is one of those kinds of stories I am somehow able to remember in ridiculous detail except for the names you could actually put into google to find it; it's actually a limousine (a UN one at that), and the dude was a photography student who just happened to be across the street, and Andy Warhol later used the photo for a print (of course). It is also the reason I can never kill myself, since no suicide will ever be as beautiful again and that certainly includes me. I love irony and despise the subpar.

yes; i remember all of that except the limo belonging to the un (it's been forever since i read about this). you're right, though- no one will ever manage a suicide this beautiful again; it'd be like making a shitty mangled replica of a great work of art.

aaaaaanyway, i'm moving this weekend! essentially all of saturday and sunday will be moving-time (followed by finish-cleaning-the-old-apartment time, if there's...time). monday i could maaayyybe do, except aren't tickets like a billion dollars? [i mean a billion in poor person dollars.]
