A heavy bass line fills the air, echoing off the walls of the dark underpass. Yongguk moves between bodies, edges to the end of the tunnel because it’s damn hot and he’s starting to feel a little faint. His eyes fall to a boy just a few metres ahead and he stumbles over his own feet to get to him. Blonde hair, sharp eyes and streaks of neon pink body paint across high cheek bones. He must be an ulzzang. Yongguk reaches out to him, fingers curling around his slender elbow. The other turns, lips turning upwards as he rakes his eyes up and down Yongguk’s body. The skinny brunette beside him gives a gentle push towards Yongguk and they crash into each other, grinning. ‘What’s your name?’ Yongguk asks, lips brushing the other boy’s ear. The blonde’s grip on his shoulder tightens and he leans closer. ‘It’s the police!’ Someone shouts, the sound of sirens in the distance growing louder. Yongguk loses him in the sudden stampede.

Yongguk arrives at the restaurant with a hot little thing on his arm. She’s short and pretty with long fluttery eyelashes and wavy brown hair. Her long red nails clutch onto his elbow, clinging to him like a life line because her ridiculous heels are like skyscrapers and she’d probably break something if she took so much as five steps without something to support her. They haven’t even sat down yet but he already knows he won’t be asking for a second date. The waiter seats them, 15 minutes after their reservation time because it’s Valentine’s Day and they’re delayed but dessert is free so his date doesn’t complain - as much. The waiter seats them near the window then goes to get some water. His date excuses herself to re-powder her nose and Yongguk is left by himself. The two boys at the next table stand up though Yongguk isn’t paying much attention. He doesn’t notice the slender brunette nudging at the boy with a familiar crop of blonde hair and reaches for a menu as they pass his table. Outside someone lingers at the window though he doesn’t look up until he notices them touching the glass. He freezes, finally noticing the blonde. His heart gives an involuntary thump as Yongguk watches the stranger breath against the glass. A heart appears before his eyes and the blonde smiles then is gone. He’s about to chase after him when a sickly sweet voice makes him stop ‘Oh, Yongguk-Oppa. Of course I’ll be your valentine’

They meet at one of Jaehyo’s parties, the sort were someone wakes up with their ex’s name tattooed across their ass and half their eyebrows missing (or in Jiho’s case, their two eyebrows become four). Yoseob abandons Yongguk as soon as they get through the door and Yongguk goes in search of beer. He finds the blonde-now-brunette stood outside on the balcony watching stars. ‘Well, well’ Laughs the other, peering at Yongguk from over his shoulder. He pats the bannister, gesturing Yongguk closer and looks back out over the city. ‘If it isn’t Mr Valentine. What are you doing here?’ Yongguk stands against the wall instead, taking in the other’s silhouette against the night sky. The stars are beautiful but the ulzzang is breath taking. He turns to face Yongguk, leaning back with his elbows against the railings. The soft light from inside highlight his cheek bones and the curve of his lips. He looks thinner than Yongguk remembers and a little taller too. ‘I could ask you the same thing’ Yongguk holds out his hand and the brunette stares at it for a few moments, calculating. He seems to come to a conclusion, lips quirking into a soft smile that gives Yongguk butterflies and he reaches out to him. Yongguk pulls him forwards, arm automatically curling around his waist to pull him closer. ‘What’s your name?’ He asks as hands fall to his chest. He can feel the brunette’s breath against his lips and his eyes feel heavy as the distance between them closes. ‘Himchan’ The other smiles against his lips.

Vasco Hyung’s second attempt at setting Yongguk up on a blind date fails as miserably as the first time, though Yongguk’s not sure which is worse - The annoying girl with the squeaky child-like voice or being stood up. His ego is bruised, pride wounded and he decides to walk home after the waitress asked him to leave. Sir, there’s customers waiting to be seated and it doesn’t look like your date is coming. He decides to kill some time and takes a walk down by the Cheonggyecheon creek that runs through the city in hopes that the trickling waters will calm his mind. If he’s lucky someone will push him in as they pass him by and no one will notice as he drowns. He shakes his head, maybe that’s a little too melodramatic. He regrets his decision almost instantly when he gets there - there’s so many couples walking arm in arm. It only serves to make his sour mood even damper. He’s about to turn back and go home when he hears a distinct male voice from across the creek. It’s low and gravelly, and smooth like rich coffee. He feels the goosebumps forming at the back of his neck and when he looks up, sure enough - there is Himchan. The soft lighting of the creek gives him an ethereal glow and Yongguk considers wading across the undoubtedly cool water to him. ‘Come on’ Says a man, a little shorter than Himchan but far more muscular. He holds on tightly to the ulzzang’s elbow and looks at the other with what is supposed to be a pleading expression. Yongguk thinks he looks constipated. Jaehyo said Himchan had a boyfriend - Some European body builder who leaves dirty great big bruises all over Himchan’s perfectly white skin. Yongguk wants to shout at him to let go of his Himchan and that thought scares him. He watches as Himchan pauses for a moment and caves in, the European brute dragging back to his cave.

‘Yah, Kim Himchan’ Shouts Jaehyo as he opens the door to a somewhat wary looking Yongguk. ‘Mr Valentine is here’ He grins playfully, all teeth and mischief as he shows the other inside. He gives Yongguk a once over, leaving the elder blushing before moving further into the apartment and out of sight. ‘He looks pretty hot too! If you don’t get out there soon I’m going to steal him’ There’s a crash from Himchan’s bedroom and some muted cursing before the ulzzang comes out of his room hopping on one foot and clutching his toe. Yongguk would laugh but his eyes are glued to Himchan’s hair which has now returned to the former soft blonde it had been when they first met. Himchan flushes at the attention and bows his head though he drags himself over to where Yongguk is waiting in the doorway. He pauses to kiss the elder before slipping on a pair of shoes, only then noticing that Yongguk’s arms are both behind his back. ‘What are you hiding?’ He asks, brows quirked and eyes narrowed. Yongguk bites his lip to keep from smiling (though he fails anyways) and leans forwards, eyes closed expectantly. ‘One more kiss’ He says, cracking one eye open to look at the other ‘and I’ll show you’ He closes his eye again and waits. The other laughs softly, carding his fingers through Yongguk’s bangs and presses his lips to Yongguk’s. The elder flicks his tongue against Himchan’s lower lip as the ulzzang cradles his head and the kiss deepens. The chocolate and wine in Yongguk’s hands temporarily forgotten.
In the end, they don’t make it to their dinner reservation.
