When Ahn Jaehyo is given a task he is a man on a mission. Nothing will stop him until he’s accomplished whatever he’s set out to do and unfortunately for Himchan, he has become Jaehyo’s mission. Dressed in an oversized sweater and grey sweat pants, he finds himself being pushed and shoved around the local supermarket.

‘We need beer’ Murmurs Jaehyo; swinging a bright blue plastic basket back and forth. Himchan feels ridiculously underdressed as he trails behind his best friend, his sharp burgundy jacket and tight fitting black jeans showing his slender frame. Himchan looks like an awkward child wearing his brother’s hand me downs. ‘Chanie, we’re going to pig out like never before’ Jaehyo commands. He throws a large bag of chips into the basket, grinning at Himchan over his shoulder. The elder just nods and shoves his hands into his pockets. There’s no use arguing.

‘Come on’ Sighs the other, turning on Himchan when they reach the biscuit aisle. He tucks the handle of the basket into his elbow and reaches up to pinch at Himchan’s cheeks, pulling at soft skin. ‘You are Kim. Him. Chan. You are handsome and intelligent. You can play the Ja- Jja-jj… you can play all those old instruments and there is a world full of men out there, well half full- but the point is, there’s plenty more sharks in the sea’ Himchan blinks, note quite sure whether he should correct his best friend or not. He decides against it because Jaehyo only means well and Jaehyo will only get upset. Jaehyo’s hands fall to Himchan’s shoulders and he smiles in a way he hopes is reassuring. The way Jaehyo’s eyes narrow, the slight wrinkle of his nose tells him it’s not as reassuring as he’d hoped. Jaehyo just sighs and pulls back. ‘I know you liked him but it’s good that you realised now. Better to find out these things after a month then a year or two down the line’ Jaehyo does have a point. Himchan had caught his boyfriend with a cute little blonde on his arm, or rather on his lap.

‘We still need beer’ Jaehyo sing-songs a few moments later; the tension is getting too thick for his liking. He reaches back, tugging at the sleeve of Himchan’s sweater and drags him passed eggs and cheese until the reach the drinks aisles. ‘You’re really going to drink beer with me?’ Himchan asks suspiciously. Ahn Jaehyo is sort of man who likes pink drinks with frosted rims and little pieces of fruit or umbrellas. Jaehyo stiffens a little and Himchan watches as he forces himself passed the bright coloured bottles of cocktail mix. Himchan decides to humour him and doesn’t say anything as they move further along towards the beer though he does quickly grab one of the pink bottles and hides it behind his back. ‘This is why I’m your best friend’ Grins Jaehyo, the corners of his eyes crinkling.

Himchan’s just reaching for a six-pack of beer when a group of men pass the end of the aisle. Himchan doesn’t pay them much attention - they’re all kind of old looking and rough in letter man jackets and hoodies. Jaehyo stares at them a little too long. One breaks away from the others, a cap fitted tightly to his head and black tee five sizes too big. He stops just next to Himchan and reaches for the same brand of beer though when the ulzzang looks up they both stop, hands in mid-air. The stranger sizes him up as Himchan takes notice of the way his hair falls into his eyes and the thickly rimmed decoration glasses. There’s something a little wild in his gaze that unsettles Himchan and sets butterflies loose in his stomach. One corner of his lips twitch - almost as if he knows the effect he’s having on Himchan and he looks away, glancing at Jaehyo. Himchan watches as the other man takes a few packs of beer and steps back. ‘Damn, you’re hot’ The smirk turns into a lip bite and gummy smile; the accompanying voice low and husky. If there were butterflies in his stomach a moment ago, there’s a tornado in there now.  He hears Jaehyo’s soft ‘Who?’

Himchan glances down, the baggy sweater completely dwarfs his frame and his sweatpants have certainly seen better days. He glances up to Jaehyo who looks as confused as Himchan feels, dressed in all his designer clothes and decides then that, no - the hot scary thug was not talking to him and was clearly talking about Jaehyo. There’s a murmur and Himchan snaps his head around to see the guy and his friends disappear around the corner. Jaehyo seems to snap back to reality too and all but drops the basket at Himchan’s feet. ‘I’ll be back in a minute’ He grins, though he’s already sprinting down the aisle. ‘Jae. Jaehyo-ya!’ Himchan shouts, even after the other is out of sight. ‘Yah!!! Ahn Jaehyo get back here!!’ That insolent brat makes no reply.

He finds Jaehyo three aisles away, just as the lighter haired male waves goodbye to the guy from earlier. The mischievous gleam in his eyes seems to have grown and there’s a bounce in his step as he makes his way towards Himchan. ‘Put everything back my friend - We are going to a party’ He grins, presumably responding to Himchan’s slightly confused expression. ‘Party? What? Those guys?’ Himchan asks as the other takes the basket from his hand. Jaehyo nods and as if suddenly remembering something, waves a small business card in Himchan’s face. ‘You got his number?’ Himchan sputters. He tries to ignore the slither of disappointment that feels like it’s wrapping around his throat. Jaehyo’s face brightens even more and he slings a playful arm around Himchan’s shoulders. ‘Nope, you did, but …’

‘But what?’

‘You’re not going to the party dressed like that’
