Question: Have any of you ever shipped a package internationally? I'm selling something online, and a Canadian is interested in buying, and wants to know if I can ship there. I went to the UPS website, and it appeared that the paperwork involved is significantly more complex than my taxes. I just wanted to know if anyone had tried before, and ( Read more... )

I've mailed LETTERS internationally before via USPS. Try here: http://www.usps.com/business/shippingtools/welcome.htm

I don't think it's a problem to mail packages across borders through the post office... but I'm not for sure.

eh, yeah, I just tried via usps too, but there's (literally) 6 pages of paperwork to do, so I told the guy no. thanks though.

I have not shipped a package internationally before. However, I do know that some countries have different rules than the US about what is allowed to be shipped, and specifically, some of them have strange rules about what is allowed to be imported. So, make sure you check the country's import rules before sending whatever it is. Since your package will be going through customs, it is subject to inspection.

Whether it's worth it or not, who knows. Someone at the post office would be able to tell you everything you need to know, I'm sure.
