I think my least favorite thing in the whole wide world is being blown off. I mean, honestly, why make plans with someone if you're not going to follow through. I'd much rather someone just say "I don't want to spend time with you" than "yea lets go out on (fill in a day) and do (fill in an event)" and then never call when the day comes. I hate

Its not bad to make the same mistake twice, or thrice, or quadrice...? i wonder if i can coin that word. Just remember that the people around you that care about you will help you change and grow in whatever way you want

I say don't lose faith. You'll probably mean tons more people that aren't worth your time or energy, but someday you'll meet that kid that is worth it and will make up for everyone else's mistakes. And yes, people do change but you shouldn't have to wait for them to do so. Just because you cross a bridge doesn't mean it's been burned.
