It's not the HDB direct flats they are fighting for. They are fighting for the grant and concessionary loan rates that are tied to the ceiling. They just happen to be in the range where they can't buy direct HDB and struggle to afford to buy resale or private housing. Like many others, housing is not the only worry too.
