Its time for a long overdue update =P
Have been so busy for the last few weeks so bear with me while i rant it all out
The Handing over (June 09)
The countdown to my last day with the company; it was filled with a lot of tidying up of work to prepare for my handover… thankfully I managed to haul all my belongings back home and was able to leave office on the last day with just one bag of barang barang =)
The last day wasn’t as drama mama as my previous company where I cried my eyes out, this time, it was rather mild (maybe because I’ve gone through it before and realized that its not THAT sad after all)… I had ordered Mac’s Apple Pies for all my colleagues and the McDelivery person must be thinking that I’m obsessed to order so many, and to have it delivered to 5 different locations…

Received 2 bouquets of flowers as well, one from my usual gang at work and the other from the boy; with a really sweet message that he will support me in whatever decisions I made (awww….). It was really touching, cos I had resigned when I had no back up plan to fall on and was fretting big time about the upcoming expenses and not being able to find a job in that one month span. So I really needed lots of emotional support…
Got some other gifts as well, but I guess the most treasured ones will still be the gift of friendship =)
The Photoshoot (26th June 09)
The highly anticipated photoshoot finally arrived and this was 2 days after my last day with the company… I’m just glad to offset my leave so that I had a a full day’s rest before the shoot, cos I had really bad eyebags from the previous few late nights…
The shoot didn’t really go as well as what we had expected (details in another entry), we were a disappointed at the phototog’s lack of professionalism throughout the shoot… but lets just hope that the photos will come out well…
The start of a new job (July 09)
I really have to thank my lucky stars to be able to find a job so quickly while serving my notice… and so far things are looking pretty good… colleagues are friendly and the office is nice and cosy (except the super cold air-con)… and the best part, lunch is provided everyday! Which can work out to quite a bit of savings, considering that I will always spend a minimum of $5 for every lunch ( meal + drinks + fruits)
Downside is that there are no shops nearby… so can’t walk off lunch and also no place to buy snacks / draw money etc… which can also be positive cos I won’t spend unnecessary money… =)
Have also been involved in a lot of meetings recently, and most of them are over meals... in just that few short days, i've been to 4 feasts already... this is not good when i'm in the process of losing my tummy (& weight) for the wedding... argh!!!

one of the culprits of my bulging tummy =(
The ‘Meeting of the Parents / Negotiation’
We finally had a session for both sets of parents as well as the elders to sit down for our food tasting as well as “negotiate” the bride price… it was interesting to listen to them talk about the traditions and stuff and what are the things that are needed for the wedding.
Its odd how now our elders prefer everything to be simplified, like just getting a few cans of pigs trotters for symbolism, but we (the couple) wants the whole package including things like the wedding cakes (xi bings), and the whole suckling pig =P
Whatever it is, there's alot of stuff to be bought for the customary wedding... so guess we got to make a trip down to chinatown / bugis area to get it all settled =)
The Countdown
We had planned to do a countdown from 100 days to the wedding, but oops, we are now 76 days to the wedding... that translates into just 11 more weekends... argh!!!
it seemed like i had a lot more time on hand, but looks like i got to manage my time a little better...
i'm officially going to freak out =(.
