Well, I've spent a fair bit of time over there so I've picked up a bit of an accent.. You'll notice I spell things the American way.. but that's just cos it's easier.. And I've picked up a lot of the language..

Because some of their words are still derived from British English.. A lot of pronounciations are the same.. It's mostly the southerners that have the stronger accent.. Though the whole router thing.. lol.. Drives me crazy..

Dixies are the bloody asses that tried to secede from the Union and us Yankees had to squash their damn rebellion and keep the Great United States together. These are the idiots that still run around in white bedsheets and wave the confederate flag around - i.e. your rednecks with their shotguns and rifles.

P.S. If you're offended by this answer, go get a life and stop reading LJ's all the time... and if you're offended by the P.S. Jesus... you're not supposed to believe "EVERYTHING" you read on the internet... Didn't mommy and daddy teach you anything???!!!!

50% General American English
30% Yankee

have no idea what the blazes is Dixie

but I suppose it's accurate - my biggest influence in English Speaking was 'Friends' after all - even if now I try mixing up just because it's funny, in general, it's American English.

lol.. Read PsychoticBrat's comment for the definition of Dixie.. :) heheh

But yeah.. I don't even notice the accents in Friends and all the other american shows now.. It's quite amusing.. I'm so used to american accents.. the only ones I can really hear are the southern ones.. Mid-south and Mid-west..
