Wolves!

This morning I went to the first of two photo sessions I'm doing at the Wolf Conservation Center in South Salem, NY. (www.nywolf.org) There were about 15 people there, but some of them were couples sharing one camera. There were three guys with professional equipment (::pauses for a moment to turn green::), several (including me) with digital SLRs ( Read more... )

OMG, these are BEAUTIFUL! Fabulously beautiful! I envy your time taking these and being there. :D One question and forgive me if I'm wrong, but I didn't think pure wolves could have blue eyes...? Thought that had to be a wolf hybrid of some sort with some dog/husky/mal dna somewhere in there. So I ask and bow to your supreme zoological wisdom. ^_^ It is a wolf conservation center, you said, and I'm pretty sure they do take wolf hybrids (last time I checked, anyway).

I LOVE the one of Apache howling. That is a power shot. He exudes power and confidence with that pose. Definitely alpha. :) The last headshot of Kyla is gorgeous (though the first is a great expression). And I love the pounce! They're all so beautiful. I remember the last time I had a chance to go a wolf exhibit, I could stay there forever and just watch. Yeah, I'm a lil envious. ;)

And next time, ask the wanker to move out of YOUR way. ;)

Excellent photos! I grew up near Wolf Park and visited there several times in my youth -- wolves are beautiful animals and you captured that wonderfully!

WOW! I love the running and pouncing shots the best. Fabulous, go you. And yup, you don't have to move for that guy. Grrrr on your behalf.

Take good care of your knees and your lungs. *hugs*

Words fail.
(thank gods I can still type...)
Am absolutely, utterly, insanely pea-green with envy...and totally lusting after Apache.
*sigh*
*resolves to hide in your camera bag next trip*

Can see why you'd feel the discomfort was well worth it, they're beautiful.
